Kings Canyon, the Mcdonnell Range Gorges & getting chased by a dingo on my bday!!

Kings Canyon was pretty spectacular, did an awesome 7km hike along the canyon rim. Then headed along the Mereenie Loop to the Mcdonnell Range gorges. Set up camp for 3 days at Redbank Gorge where I had a great bday. Had French bubbles at sunset, an awesome camp fire and got chased by a dingo on my morning run!! That'll teach me to exercise on holiday!!

Arrived in Alice yesterday and thought we might stay for the Camel Cup which is on tomorrow. But the desert is calling. We are setting off on our crossing of the Gibson and Great Sandy Desert today. 1600km from Alice to Marble Bar along the Gary Junction Rd. Stocked up with plenty of fuel, water, food and booze so we should be OK!

Stay tuned.....

Uluru & the Olgas are absolutely amazing

Had the most awesome day yesterday. My first sight of Ayers Rock was breathtaking, it was much more impressive than I thought it would be. The way the colors change every time you see it is a photographers dream.

We did the 7.6 km Valley of the Winds Walk through the Olgas & then the 10km Base Walk around the Rock. We then lined up at Sunset Strip with our bubbles to watch the spectacle of sunset at the Rock. It was like watching a movie!! The sun came out from behind the clouds & moved across the valley & everyone waited in suspense until it hit the Rock! It was truly magic.

Next stop Kings Canyon.
